In Plymouth Argyle’s latest pre-season game at home on August 29th, Luke Jephcott scored with a long-range ball in the 87th minute.
Finally, Plymouth Argyle beat Forest Green Rovers with a score of 2-1. Midfielder Panutche Camara grabbed the ball and gave Jephcott a convenient pass. After that, Jephcott had the chance to score.
Jephcott was not caught by the defender of Forest Green. The goalkeeper appealed by van for offside, before the striker headed the ball away from goalkeeper Luke McGee into the empty net.
Argyle scored the first goal in the 41st minute with striker Ryan Hardie’s beautiful left-footed shot. However, at the beginning of the second half, Forest Green equalized thanks to Dan Sweeney’s 30-meter shot high into the empty net of Mike Corner.
Both football teams had a lot of replacement in the second half of the match. This affected the flow of the game.
Calvin Miller was noticeable when Plymouth Argyle hosts the Forest Green Rovers
The 22-year-old striker has been tried on Plymouth Argyle for the past few weeks. He has practiced a lot in the special training for Plymouth Argyle rookies in summer.
Calvin Miller will play his third pre-season game as a probationer for Plymouth Argyle. They will host Forest Green Rovers club of League Two at Home Park soon. The coach of Plymouth Argyle, Ryan Lowe, makes it convenient for the 22-year-old striker. Calvin Miller was debuted by Scottish champions Celtic earlier this summer.
Calvin Miller impressed the coach in his previous two games for Plymouth Argyle. The matches were against Rangers XI and Middlesbrough. Another good performance of the striker was when Forest Green visited the Greens Theater. Miller has played as a left-back, but can also function as a regular left-back, as well as in midfield.
The Forest Green Rovers won all three pre-season games, beating non-League teams Yate 2-0 and Melksham 6-0 before beating League One 4-3’s Bristol Rovers recently.
